Those are some crazy-looking snails, El Paso

So I found this shell in my yard that looks like a sea shell, but beige-gray and I thought, surely it belongs to some neighbor's arts and craft project. I was informed that it's just a snail shell. That's CRA-ZY! Where I come from, snails hang out in shells that look like the second picture.

Seriously, engineering-wise, the French snail makes more sense, non? His house is compact and right on top of him. The El Paso snail, on the other hand, has to drag half of his body and his house behind him. Also, the French snail is cuter.
