Solar gift for Mother's Day

I heard about this charity on NPR over the weekend. It's called We Care Solar and was started by an obstetrician who does work in Africa and noticed that they would lose electric power at the most inopportune time, like in the middle of a C-section. She had her husband (some kind of solar engineer) make "solar suitcases," of portable solar kits for remote locations.

A donation could make a very nice Mother's Day present. Tomorrow is the last day they can guarranty that the card arrives Sunday.

Here's from their Web site:

With your contribution, WE CARE Solar will deliver headlamps to Haitian Health Foundation in Haiti, and to other medical relief in Haiti and other regions without reliable electricity. Join our efforts to light up Haitian births, and to save the lives of mothers and babies around the world.
We'll send your honoree a beautiful WE CARE Solar photo card, announcing your donation in your honoree's name.
